Government Relations / Lobbying / Administrative Law
We offer unique expertise in governmental relations and administrative law providing firsthand lobbying experience by lawyers and veteran lobbyists. We have worked closely with the leadership of the Tennessee State Senate and the Tennessee State House of Representatives for more than 25 years. Offering lobbying experience with a legal twist, our attorneys can perform in both the advocacy and legal areas.
In conjunction with our subsidiary, Farris Mathews Bobango Public Strategies Group LLC, we represent clients at the federal state and local levels before the legislative and executive branches of government. This includes legislative, administrative and regulatory matters. Our attorneys and lobbyists are well-known throughout the state as advocates especially in the health care, telecommunications, hospital and local government entities arenas.
Our expertise in governmental relations is founded on a history of public service. In Nashville, our senior member, Harlan Mathews, served forty years in the state government, including a term as Deputy Governor. Mathews also served in the U.S. Senate. William W. Farris, the firm’s founder, served in the executive branches of state and city government as well as the State Senate. He was also a long-time member of the Democratic National Committee. Another member of the firm is the former Shelby County Republican Party Finance Chairman and a former Memphis City Councilman. Another member served as Shelby County Democratic Party Chairman and is a member of the Tennessee Democratic Party Executive Committee.
Our firsthand political experience brings with it vital relationship and an enhanced ability to provide lobbying and administrative services.
